ABOUT JOSH WILSON
Infield Coordinator
Josh Wilson was a 3rd-round draft pick in 1999 out of Mt. Lebanon High School and went on to play nearly 20 seasons in professional baseball, including eight years at the Major League level. Known for his reliability as a versatile infield defender and his reputation as a high-character teammate, Josh earned opportunities to compete at the highest level under some of the game’s most respected managers, including Jack McKeon, Joe Maddon, Bob Melvin, A.J. Hinch, and Kirk Gibson.
Following his playing career, Josh spent six seasons on the Detroit Tigers’ scouting staff as an MLB scout, expanding his expertise in player evaluation, analytics, and modern technology. His role at Pittsburgh Baseball Lab will impact all aspects of player development, bringing elite experience, insight, and leadership to the facility.
